Perennial Sanctuary is a post-nature approach to the monomyth of loss. In the ruins of an ancient cave temple, a sacred tree tells the tale of her beautiful land that falls apart and regrows. This virtual experience discloses 3 memories of her past - Remembrance, Repentance, and Resilience, featuring new media works by student artists from the Advanced Experimental 3D class and Digital Bodies Performed class at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

The hype of cryptocurrency as circulating virtual currency makes its rounds to the gaming community where PTE (“play to earn”) ecosystems turns games into profit. In this video, a ‘choose your character’ screen grab appears for a web-based game that allows you to purchase virtual asian female characters. Through the transaction of virtual bodies, I question how asian femininity becomes yet another vessel for the imagined world of science fiction and gaming culture. My Dreams These Days is a 12-hour showcase of artist work streamed consecutively online as well as projected live at physical locations in the Chicago area. This student-run, marathon event is a combined virtual and physical experience, with an emphasis on time-based art pieces.
This virtual exhibition consists of three stages:

MyAdPreference(); displays abstracted and morphed icons of my body, subverting a sterile tale of targeted ads into a personal categorization. This web-based performance is a relationship between the media and my datafied self. Allowing the user to explore my diary of ads- to click, or touch- my alphabetically morphed body dispels a sense of self-ownership.

I Am Polygon is a 3D interactive website set in a cyberpunk-inspired cityscape. The user is able to traverse in this environmnt with jagged buildings and contorted bodies.

An amalgamation of East Asian scripts featured in the backgrounds of cyberpunk films was input into RunwayML’s StyleGAN AI. The resulting output of obscure language was tattooed onto my body. The irony of misspelled Asian words permanently inscribed on skin produces an aesthetic of disorientation.
